Wall Sconce

Here is another light fixture that I've been eyeing lately.  The brass adds a nice vintage feel, which is always fun to have.  I have yet to see it in person, so I don't know what kind of light it will give off, but judging by the shade paired with crystal, I think it would be beautiful.

Square Chandelier

I have seen this light used quite a few times in the past year, both for a dining chandelier and over kitchen islands.  I love the light that it gives off.  The bulbs are small and twinkly, and the crystals reflect everywhere.  Also having the wide shade over the whole thing adds a softness to the light so that it feels warm without being dingy.

I'll take two for my kitchen, please!

Ever since I saw this pendant I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.  It's the perfect balance of pretty and heavy.  The bubbled glass gives off a beautiful, sparkly light that isn't too sharp.  If you're looking for the right light to hang over a kitchen island, this would be a beautiful choice.  I would pair it with a cool palette that has a slightly nautical inspiration.

Childproofing

Sorry for the long absence! Really, I am. I've been pushing to finish design school and working on a complete redesign of our own living spaces (more on that later, hopefully). I've been pouring through magazines and scribbling on post-its like a crazy person. You should see it - I just sketched a door design on the back of my grocery list. It is cool, but you can't really tell from the drawing. In the meantime, I've come to a point in my life where child-proofing and beauty are at odds with eachother. And what do you think I have found? Forget hanging those amazing drum shade pendants over the kitchen islands! I am using them for lamps in the living room. That's right. Lamps that hang from the ceiling, completely out of a child's reach! Plus these are plug-ins, so you can use them in your rental, or if you are like me, you can skip hiring the electrician and just buy some hooks.

Design your own shade here.

Chandelier overload

Chandeliers are in. I've seen them everywhere, and I like it. But what about this crazy idea of having chandeliers for your bedside lamps? Definitely goes with the romantic mood of the room, but I would put softer bulbs in for a more ambient lighting.

Lighting

Someday I will find the perfect room for this beauty.
